Awakeri Playcentre is a thriving centre with enthusiastic family members always ready to have lots of FUN.
Awakeri Playcentre is a family organisation where we empower adults and children to play, work, learn and grow together. We honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and celebrate people’s uniqueness. We value and affirm parents as the first and best educators of their children so that whanau are strengthened and communities enriched.
At Awakeri Playcentre we run two types of sessions - General and Kiwi Club.
GENERAL SESSIONS These are held on Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9.15am to 12pm. Friday is run alongside the Independent session (see below). General sessions cater for families with children aged from birth to school age. Come along with your child(ren) and watch (and help) them learn through play.
INDEPENDENT SESSIONS - KIWI CLUB Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9.00am to 1.00pm. Independent sessions are more structured in preparation for future learning. They are supervised by a wonderful person who once was a Playcentre mum. She gained her qualifications through Playcentre and is now sharing what she learnt with the children of Awakeri Playcentre. If you have preschool children aged from 2 years upwards and are looking for an alternative to Kindergarten or other preschool services then come and check us out. Your child must attend a general session in order to be able to attend the independent sessions.
If you are interested in seeing what Playcentre is all about then come and visit us during our sessions and we will greet you with friendly smiles.
