Playcentre is on a new journey
It involves changes in the organisation structure, and another step on our Treaty-based partnership journey. Change can be challenging. It takes some time, and involves some uncertainty. It pays to be prepared, and to support each other. So climb on board this exciting journey and attend Playcentre Conference 2012.

Hosts: Conference 2012 is being coordinated by the Trustee Board and Operations Manager, and is being organised by Kate Hamill from Event Action.

A Challenge for Associations
At conference it is traditional to provide conference bags for delegates to take away. At the 2012 conference we will be providing 'survival kits' for our adventurous journey.
As working together on the journey is vital we challenge each Association to provide something for the survival kit. It can be anything you think will help a conference attendee survive the journey of change! Or a travel, adventure, journey related item. Or it could be one of your Association's promotional items, or simply a pen from your local bank. Associations can also get together to provide a joint item.

Kate Hamill is coordinating this and she will keep a list of who is providing what. She also has lots of great ideas that are theme related. Please contact Kate as soon as possible to let her know what your Association is thinking of -

You will need to:
- provide 140-150 of each item
- label items with your Association/s and a message if you would like to
- arrange delivery of the items to either the venue or to Kate Hamill (contact Kate and depending on size etc, they will either come to her or direct to the venue)

About Playcentre Conference
Playcentre conference is run annually, usually in the last weekend of May. It consists of the NZPF AGM and two days of keynote speakers, workshops, networking, celebrations, book launches, and fun! Conference is largely attended by current and past federation, association and centre members. |
Call for Workshops!
Conference will include several workshops from Te Wananga o Raukawa in Otaki. We are also calling for people interested in running a conference workshop of 90 minutes in length.
Workshops should relate to one of the following strands:
- Playcentre/Association management
- Personal development
- Creativity and fun
- Good practice or research in Playcentres.
Please contact the Federation Secretary with your workshop idea by 28 February 2012 by emailing her at secretary@playcentre.org.nz. Please include a 100-150 word description of your workshop, and a 40 word bio introducing the presenter/s.
NZPF has a limited budget for workshop costs and presenter travel costs. Please contact the Federation Secretary to discuss.
Presenters will be expected to purchase a registration to conference unless they are only attending for their presentation.
