On Thursday 19th May at 4pm Mayor Len Brown will officially open the New Zealand Playcentre Federation Conference at the Barry Court Hotel in Parnell, Auckland (10-20 Gladstone Road).

The theme for the conference is Cycles and Seasons: Life and Play.
It is about celebrating our journey, through Playcentre and through life in all its glorious stages. It is about balance and how to achieve it. It is about play through the seasons from a climate and life stage perspective.

Current and past federation, association and centre members largely attend conference for the annual general meeting to vote in the new Federation Officers, pass remits and policies, attend professional development workshops and generally have fun networking.

Playcentre acknowledges and supports parents as the first and most important educators of their children. Playcentres are co-operatively managed and supervised by parents with support from experienced Association and Federation personnel. They deliver the national early childhood curriculum, Te Whariki, and are partially funded by the Ministry of Education.
