Ashridge Road Playcentre is located in Napier South and has been part of the local community for over 50 years. Our cosy centre has an adaptable outdoor play area and some unique features (such as a library in the former bakery oven). Our children enjoy a wide range of activities from paint to clay, from carpentry to cooking and everything in between. Children are free to choose which areas interest them and are supported to extend their knowledge as they play.
We strongly believe in the Playcentre slogan “Whanau Tupu Ngatahi – families growing together”, so we welcome whanau, parents, grandparents, uncles and aunties to come and play alongside the children. We have regular field trips and social events which our families get involved in, and we support parent education within the centre. We are one of the few centres in Hawkes Bay that offers a Young Child Session (Wednesday afternoons) where children aged 3 and over get to join together for lunch, then to explore, create and play. Our general sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings welcome children aged from birth to 6 years old and we share a healthy morning tea at these. Our new Papatūānuku session is an all weather, outdoors based session that allows tamariki to learn and playthrough being in the natural environment. Feel free to come in and visit anytime. A warm welcome waits for you and your family.
