We are a well-resourced centre that prides itself on our relationships – it is hard to know which parents match which children, and we love it that way!

Playcentre is unlike any other early childhood education organisation. At Playcentre, both children and their parents/caregivers attend sessions. Whānau are actively involved in the education of our tamariki and children are supported to become confident, competent self-directed learners through play activities based around their interests.

• Our children’s curiosity and creativity is nurtured through the fun range of experiences provided. No two days at Playcentre are the same.
• Our tamariki gain knowledge and grow through play, participation, experiences, and positive guidance.
• Siblings can attend together, allowing older tamariki to mentor younger tamariki and practice leadership, empathy and caring.
• Our parents are actively involved in providing our children’s learning programmes and curriculum. The high adult to child ratio allows a good balance for group and individual support during each session.

If you care for tamariki aged 0-6, we invite you to visit and experience our affordable, unique, and child-led environment. Our centres encourage learning through free play and nurture imagination, confidence, and connection.

Our licensed early learning centres follow the Ministry of Education’s world-leading bicultural curriculum, Te Whāriki, offering 16 different areas of play set up to cater for different interests, skills, ages and abilities.

We also provide a free, NZQA-approved, adult education programme for enrolled whānau to add practical strategies and skills to your parenting toolbox.
