Tēnā koutou katoa
I know many of you have seen the pre-Budget announcement for Playcentre. I will talk more about this to you after I have received further information from the Minister and Ministry of Education about how this will impact on our present and future funding. We are still seeking details of the information released yesterday. While we do appreciate the recognition and investment provided for in the Budget, that allocation comes after a very long period of underfunding of our organisation, and we need to have a good look at our original funding bid to see where this now places us.
To ensure the re-opening of centres goes as safely and smoothly as possible, we have updated our information on the website here to help the process. Obviously, hygiene will be a huge feature of running sessions. We will be adding to/modifying the website over the coming week as we think more about how things are going to work. Hopefully, a COVID-specific checklist will help a lot – that will go up on the website tomorrow. We’ll also have more information relating to advice for excursions, vaccines and licensing, so please do check in to get the latest updates. I am mindful that there is a lot of information “out there”, but would strongly encourage you to go to our website first.
