Update 15 April 2020

Tēnā koutoa katoa

Today marks three weeks of lockdown and it’s good to see the number of new coronavirus cases coming down each day, all seemingly showing how effective self-isolation has been.  As I said yesterday, the message from the Government is that it is now working out how we might move out of Level 4.  We are expecting an announcement on that tomorrow, and will be looking closely at how that will impact upon Centres.

In the meantime, we have had questions from some Centres about the school holidays. The Ministry of Education only brought forward the school holidays for schools.  For ECE services the holidays remained as they were.

Just a reminder that on March 25, we put out information to provide some clarity for staff.  In that bulletin, we explained that we were keeping the close-down period the same as previously planned for the school holidays to help maintain consistency and to be in line with what staff would have been expecting prior to the lockdown.
