Kia ora koutou
As we enter the second week of lockdown, we have developed a new section on our website with a number of resources, as a way of supporting you, your tamariki and wider whānau during this surreal time of isolation.
In this section are resources for your tamariki and also for you as parents and caregivers. Please ensure that during this unsettled time you look after yourselves, support each other and stay connected.
It is heart-warming to see Playcentres throughout Aotearoa displaying manaakitanga with children, whānau, centre members, and their community. This is a time when it really shows, as we all come together.
It is great to see you sharing with your members and other Playcentres, ideas, activities and resources. Virtual Village is a collection of ideas that have come from Playcentres and Playcentre members and we encourage you all to continue to contribute to it and make use of the ‘send us your story’ function.
Once again thank you for all you do for Playcentre. Please look after yourself, your whānau and those around you during this time.
Ka kite anō au i a koutou.
We will be posting daily activities, inspiration, whakataukī (Māori proverbs) and stories from our Playcentre village as we all participate in Playcentre at home together.
Today’s activity comes from Park Road Playcentre and involves framing natural resources. What treasures can you find around your backyard to create a beautiful picture with?
Every Wednesday we will also be posting a previous Playcentre Journal edition for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

There are a range of resources including articles, online resources for adults and videos from Neuroscience Educator Nathan Wallis.
During this time, follow us on our social media outlets to access resources, ideas and see what other Playcentre members and centres are up to.
Whether it is funny or serious we would love to hear your isolation stories.

Thank you, we appreciate you sharing and supporting the village during this time. You may have just made someone else’s day that little bit easier!
