Update 20 May 2020

Tēnā koutou katoa

We are still generating media coverage over our concerns about the underfunding of Playcentre and the shortfall in the Budget.  The lack of recognition for Playcentre has struck a cord with many Playcentre parents – as well as  former Playcentre parents and children.  It has been quite humbling to see the many plaudits that Playcentre continues to receive, with many supporters wanting to help further.  To that end, we have prepared a letter template (available here) which you can use to lobby your local MP, the Minister of Education, Chris Hipkins; Associate Minister Tracy Martin; Secretary for Education Iona Holstead; and opposition MPs like Simon Bridges, Nicki Kaye, (education spokewoman) Paula Bennett, deputy leader and spokesperon for women); Alfred Ngaro (spokesperson for children).

The NZ COVID Tracer App was launched today and will assist with contact tracing in New Zealand.  We are following up on the process to provide QR codes for Centres, but for now please continue to use the Discover visitor login process until we get further information.

I hope the week is going well.

Ka kite anō au i a koutou.
