Update 29 April 2020

Tēnā koutou katoa

Now that we are in Level 3, it will be interesting and instructive to observe how those early childhood services that have opened get on. Hopefully, there will be some lessons there for when we open our doors again.

I am aware there have been comments on our Facebook pages about  Ministry of Education-funded flu vaccinations for the education workforce.

As I understand it, the Ministry is providing one-off funding as those in the education sector start operating again under Level 3.

The ECE bulletin states that the education workforce includes any person employed or contracted as teaching, childcare staff, including specialist education professionals and others who provide support, for example, children with additional learning needs and any person employed by or contracted to an educational facility.

It also says the funding will cover vaccinations undertaken between now and 30 June, 2020. I will be following up with the Ministry of Education about whether/when we could access this funding, and will share that information with you when I have it.

Ka kite anō au i a koutou.
