We are currently transitioning from the previous education programme (The Playcentre Diploma in Early Childhood and Adult Education) to a new Nationally recognised NZQA qualification (NZ Certificate in Early Childhood Education).
If you have already enrolled in a course, it is very worthwhile completing the course you are doing. Please note that all requirements for the course must be completed by 1 Dec 2019.
Some things to keep in mind:
From the feedback provided by you, the centres, we have created a range of infographics about education and licencing to assist you during the transitional period. These are all A4 size and are designed so that you can easily pop them on your wall at your centre.

Yes, a completed module has cross credit value in the new programme. This cross credit will obviously be less than for a completed Course but will reduce what you need to do in the new programme.
Yes – you will gain an award that is recognised in the current and in the new licensing beyond 2020.
Yes, definitely – as this programme will give you a Course 4. This pathway is shorter and a significantly better option than having to transition to and complete the new level 4 Certificate to use on a centre licence after 2020.
