Learning through Play Workshops
Learning through Play workshops are a brilliant way to gain hands-on, practical ideas to support children’s learning in different curriculum areas. There are more than 20 different play topics on offer, and play workshops are open to all Playcentre whānau.
For those enrolled in Playcentre Education, a play workshop is a requirement for PE1, PE2, PL1 and PL3 – four different topics over the certificate. They can be done at any time, and if you are not yet up to a module that needs one, it will credit when you get there. For example, if you did 3 play workshops while on PE1, they would count towards PE1 straight away, and PE2 and PL1 when you get there.
Attending a face-to-face play workshop is an amazing experience however we also offer play workshops through webinar and iQualify format. Play workshops and webinars are open to everyone; iQualify only for those enrolled on the education programme.
Because play workshop can be done at any time, in different ways and by anyone, you need to BOOK SEPARATELY to the regular module. Find out more about Learning through Play workshops here.
Online Support Sessions & Individual Support
Available to all ākonga who require support completing their assessment tasks. There will be an experienced tutor to help you with your queries. Are you stuck on a task? Or do you need some clarification? Please drop in to see our lovely tutors who are more than willing to help you.
For any learners who would benefit from individualised support, please contact Mary Alford [email protected].
Reminders:
We use the Discover sign-in app to report ākonga attendance on Playcentre sessions for the practicum component of the Playcentre Education programme. Currently the Discover attendance report does not pick up sessions where adults have not signed themselves out, making it more challenging to confirm completion of the practicum requirements. We know it’s often chaotic at the end of a Playcentre session, but…
Please do your best to remember to sign-in and sign-out from Playcentre sessions 😊
Adult Learners’ Week is coming up in September. This is an international celebration of lifelong and lifewide learning, and the education team are planning graduation celebrations across the country from August to October. Here is your wero: will you be ready to celebrate with us?
