Centre website page updates

A reminder to check that your centre web page is up to date.  If you would like any changes made to your centre web page, please send them through to us at [email protected].  Thanks.

Newsletters and email updates

Recently we had feedback from some centres reporting that that were not receiving our emails/newsletters, or that they were going straight to junk email boxes.

We have investigated this and discovered that 65 centres had unsubscribed from receiving emails from Playcentre Aotearoa.

This is our main form of communication with centres, and it is very important that these emails are received.

We have added these centres back onto our mailing lists.  We have also been in touch with our website/mail administrators to make changes to the way our emails are sent.  This seems to have fixed the problem.   If you are still not receiving emails from us, then please contact [email protected].

Complaints Procedure

As outlined in our “What needs to be displayed at every centre” document, you are required to display Playcentre Aotearoa’s Complaints Procedure (Link to PDF, not word doc).

Anyone can make a complaint about a centre – parents and whānau, staff (both past and current) or members of the public. All centres must display a complaints procedure that people can see and follow.

Privacy Act principles reminder

In recent months, we have seen a rise in concerns over privacy issues at Playcentre, particularly in regard to the vaccination status of individuals. So, now is a good time to remind everyone of Playcentre Aotearoa’s Privacy and Information Management Policy – you can find it here.

Our policy includes the official Privacy Act principles and we encourage you to familiarise yourselves with these, particularly:

  1. Before using or disclosing personal information, you must take reasonable steps to check it is accurate, complete, relevant, up to date and not misleading.

And

  1. You can generally only use personal information for the purpose you collected it. You may use it in ways that are directly related to the original purpose, or you may use it another way if the person gives you permission, or in other limited circumstances.

If you have any questions or concerns, please refer to the Privacy Commission website, talk to your centre Privacy Officer or contact [email protected]

How to stop 2gb alerts on your Digital Island phone

If your DIPH Digital Island Phone & Hotspot pauses during Zoom/Teams meetings to alert you for going over 2gb, here’s how to fix it: go to Settings/Connections/Data usage/Billing cycle and data warning and then click on the slide bar to turn “Set data warning” to “off.”
