Eden-Epsom Playcentre hosts Associate Minister of Education, David Seymour
This month Eden-Epsom Playcentre hosted the Hon. David Seymour, Associate Minister of Education on session. The visit follows on from the meeting last month at the Beehive, with Hayley Kirk-Smith and Heather Ruru, our Manutaki Maurua (Co-presidents) and Hon. David Seymour to advocate for Te Whānau Tupu Ngātahi Playcentre Aotearoa as the second largest ECE provider in Aotearoa, and for all our whānau as first and best educators of our tamariki.
It was a perfect opportunity to share our core values and aspirations for the future of Playcentre Aotearoa while showcasing one our beautiful centres in action. The Minister acknowledged the challenges we shared and gave some assurances that our needs had been considered in the lead up to the Budget 2024. The Board would like to thank Eden-Epsom Playcentre for your beautiful manaakitanga and tautoko to make this happen.
Visit with Mount Maunganui Playcentre
This week Andrea Webster, who is one of our newest Board members, took the opportunity to visit and connect with the whānau of Mount Maunganui Playcentre. The Board recognise and acknowledge the importance of staying connected with our Playcentre whānau and we are committed to ensuring that we make this an ongoing priority. Andrea is a Mount Maunganui local and had attended Mount Maunganui Playcentre as a child when the Centre first opened. Mount Maunganui Playcentre will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary soon and are also eagerly awaiting confirmation of their new lease so that they can begin building their new Centre. Andrea has been invited to attend the Mount Maunganui Playcentre Korowai Blessing this Friday.
