Attending education workshops

Last updated on Wednesday 18 March 2020

At this stage, Playcentre Education workshops will continue to go ahead in line with all other education facilities also remaining open.

If workshop numbers drop to two people, then the workshop will be postponed. We will advise you asap if a workshop is cancelled.

These are our suggested considerations for facilitators and attendees:

  • As usual, if you or your family are unwell you should stay at home, but please let us know as soon as possible.
  • If you have come back from overseas in the last 14 days please self-isolate, as advised by the Ministry of Health.
  • If you are self isolating, or have concerns about catching COVID-19, you may be able to attend the workshop through Skype. Contact your Regional Education Coordinator and they will advise if skyping is available for your specific workshop.
  • When you arrive please wash your hands thoroughly.
  • Use alternative ways of greeting each other, rather than handshakes, hugs or hongi – consider waves or head gestures.

We (Education personnel, including facilitators) will be working to ensure appropriate hygiene and cleaning practices are in place to minimise any chance of exposure through:

  • Limiting activities that involve passing paper or equipment around from one person to another.
  • Ensuring that any areas of the centre that are used are cleaned at the end of the workshop, following the guidance here.
  • Spacing of participant seats when space permits.

If you end up missing a workshop (or two) due to being unwell, or needing to self-isolate you will get the opportunity in the future to catch up. We do identify and take into account those needing to attend missed workshops in order to complete modules when we schedule delivery.

If you have any concerns, please contact your regional education coordinator.
