Update 1 May 2020

Tēnā koutou katoa

I wonder how many others are checking into the Government COVID-19 briefing every day at 1pm.  It was great to hear today that for the 13th straight day, the number of new cases (3) is in single digits.   Getting back to normal is something we are increasingly talking about in our morning management meetings. We will be adding more information shortly  to our guidance for Centres to be aware of while we are at Alert Level 3. It will be interesting to hear more from the Government about next steps.

This weekend I will be in Zoom meetings with our Trustee Board.  As you can imagine, there is a lot to discuss, and I will be reporting back to you next week.

Our Virtual Village has new education resourcesPlay Insights. At Playcentre we know the value of play and lifelong learning. Play Insights are a collection of ideas, strategies and practices that support learning and development, providing research-based understandings with practical ways to engage in meaningful play.

I would like to thank Tara Solomon, one of our Playcentre Aotearoa Education Co-ordinators for creating these resources.

There are two resources available here and we will be continually adding to these over the next couple of weeks.

I hope you have a safe and relaxing weekend.

Ka kite anō au i a koutou.
