Update 5 May 2020

Tēnā koutou katoa

Great news to see we’re into our second day of no new cases of COVID-19.  That surely signals that we’re on the road back to normal, or what will perhaps be the new normal.

I ‘ve had another busy day with Zoom meetings; there’s a lot of talk about practical issues, particularly as we think about getting back to Level 2.  Our Māori Development Manager, Thomas Tawhiri, has been giving much thought to returning to our offices and Centres and how we can help make the transition – particularly about how we can make those spaces our own again, after being away for so many weeks.  We’ll be making all that information available to you shortly.

I can’t emphasise enough how important it it to keep communications lines open, especially at this time.

I really liked a recent whakataukī that our HR manager, Meg Cooksley, brought to our morning meeting that speaks to the importance of communication in “a house full of people, a house full of different views”.

“Ko te whare o te iwi e kī ana te whare o te tangata, kei te whakawhiti atu he kaiārahi.”

Ka kite anō au i a koutou.
