Playcentre Aotearoa are inviting applications from competent administrators interested in supporting our centres to run efficiently and remain compliant.
The Kaimahi is responsible for a range of tasks including the day-to-day administrative tasks of the centre to allow centre whānau to focus on their tamariki, adult education and their community.
Successful candidates will need to have a good understanding of ECE legislation and licencing requirements alongside strong communication and relationship management skills, and good attention to detail. You will be organised with the ability to prioritise and multi-task. Playcentre or ECE experience and good knowledge of Playcentre Aotearoa policies and procedures is advantageous.

Days & hours:
This role offers approximately 15 hours per week, worked across several Playcentres in the Wellington area as well as occasional work at other Playcentres within the Lower North Island region. The position includes the following hours:
- Houghton Valley Playcentre on Mondays from 9:00am to 3:00pm (with a 30-minute unpaid break)
- Miramar Playcentre on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm and Thursdays from 1:45pm to 3:15pm
- Hataitai Playcentre on Wednesdays from 9:00am to 11:00am and Fridays from 9:00am to 12:00pm
This is a permanent role during term time only, plus 1 week during each school holiday
Desirable skills and experience will include:
- Prior experience in a similar position, and ECE or Playcentre experience is useful.
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Organised – excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of ECE regulations
- Ability to use technology
