Te Whānau Tupu Ngātahi o Aotearoa – Playcentre Aotearoa is a well known and loved Early Childhood organisation with over 80 years of supporting parents to take the lead in their children’s learning through play. Playcentre operates 401 Playcentres throughout the country. We are searching for motivated and enthusiastic Programme Facilitators to join our team.  As a Programme Facilitator, you will Facilitate group discussions with the focus on parenting and infant’s development topics, lead music sessions, introduce play ideas and support both infants and their caregivers as they explore play resources in a safe environment.

Victory, Enner Glynn, Nelson & Richmond Playcentres

Days & hours:

This is a casual position with flexible days. Shifts are negotiable and can be either 9.00am to 12.00pm or 12.00pm to 3.00pm.

We will begin reviewing applications upon receipt and may appoint before closing date.

The candidate must:

  • Have Playcentre Course 3, Level 4 or above or hold an ECE degree or diploma
    OR
  • Is working towards completing Playcentre Level 4.
  • Primary Teaching with Playcentre Primary Teacher Bridging Award or be prepared to complete the bridging award.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

  • A passion for working with new babies (under two years) alongside parents and caregivers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy;
  • Knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and using Te Reo on session;
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whāriki;
  • Having great interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence speaking within a group.
  • Having completed prior Space training will be advantageous but is not necessary.
