Position description:

Purpose of the position:

Upper North Island Region are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Programme Facilitator to join our team. You will assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the Space programme and work with babies and their whānau, ensuring participants are supported to build relationships with each other.

As a Programme Facilitator, you will help parents and their babies connect with other new parents while exploring parenting, children’s development and most importantly, play, in a safe environment.

Hours:

Various days and hours. This is a permanent position. Term time only.

The ideal candidate will:

Have completed or currently enrolled in the Playcentre Level 3 or 4 C-series, OR have an equivalent ECE qualification, or higher.
OR hold a Primary Teaching qualification and have completed or be prepared to complete Playcentre Primary Teacher Bridging Award.
Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

A passion for working with new babies alongside parents and caregivers;
Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and using Te Reo on session, and how to apply Te Whāriki;
Having great interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence speaking within a group;
Having completed prior Space training will be advantageous but is not necessary as we will provide this.
