Centre Support Worker - Taranaki region - Fixed-term


Fixed term role now until the end of Term 1 2021 – 16 April 2021

We are recruiting Centre Support Workers for several Playcentres in the Taranaki region. This role will be for up to 24 hours per fortnight. Travel will be required.

Playcentre Aotearoa is an organisation that is committed to its mission of Whānau Tupu Ngātahi – Families growing together.

To support this we employ support people who can to visit centres, building relationships and helping them ensure they provide the highest quality session possible to children.

The Centre Support role is in place to empower and support Playcentre members with curriculum (Licensing C1-C13 & Te Whāriki), role modelling, teamwork, philosophy and ongoing evaluation. The role will provide consistency and knowledge of Playcentre philosophy to centres.

Skills and experience

  • Strong passion for Playcentre
  • Knowledge of and commitment to uphold Playcentre Philosophy
  • Hold a minimum of Playcentre Course 3 Certificate or equivalent
  • Commitment to biculturalism
  • Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki
  • Solution focused
  • Excellent communication skills (experience in facilitation and mediation for conflict)
  • Computer literate
  • Hold a current and valid full drivers license.

Hours will depend on how many centres the person supports, and is an ideal role to fit around other commitments such as school hours.
