Education Support Worker - Takapuna Playcentre

We are looking for a compassionate person to work alongside a child with autism and their whānau.  The successful candidate will build a strong relationship with the family, and will also work alongside specialists to promote positive learning outcomes for the child and enable them to engage in play alongside other children.

The successful applicant will have: 

  • A passion for working with children to engage in learning through play;
  • Excellent communication, including the ability to pick up on non-verbal cues;
  • Working with the whanau to meet the specific goals of the child;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy;
  • A commitment to Bi-culturalism and using Te Reo on session;
  • Start date Term One 2021

Hours

Fixed Term Part Time Position 6 hours per week (ten week tenure)

2 sessions per week (Monday and Tuesdays 9am– 12pm)
