Professional Learning & Development Lead - Part time - Permanent


The Professional Learning & Development Lead (PLD Lead) is responsible for the development and management of the PLD programmes and management of the PLD facilitation team.

Closing Date: 7th April 2021

This role is part time, specific hours worked will be decided in consultation with the Pedagogical Lead. There is potential to work this role around the School Holidays. There is also room for negotiation in regards to the workplace; this position can be based at home, the National Service Centre or a Regional Office.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Managing expenditure and reporting against budgets;
  • Supporting the Pedagogical Lead;
  • Contributing to the national planning and allocation of PLD programmes;
  • Responsible for the recruitment and management of the PLD facilitating team;
  • Reporting on PLD delivery progress.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and interest in ECE good practice, trends and issues across the sector;
  • ECE or Playcentre experience or knowledge is desirable;
  • Comfortable in a leadership role and displays honesty, discretion, sensitivity, self-discipline and resilience;
  • Excellent relationship management skills;
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Organised – excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines;
