Programme Facilitator – Onepoto Playcentre

  • Could you support parents with building relationships with babies and their whānau?

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Programme Facilitator to join our team who will work with babies and their whānau as a part of our Space Programme.  As a Programme Facilitator, you and your co-facilitator will help parents and their babies connect with other new parents while exploring parenting, children’s development and most importantly, play.

Position details:

This position is permanent, beginning 12 August 2022, although this is negotiable for the right candidate.

Based at Onepoto Playcentre, 51 Hillcrest Avenue, Hillcrest, Auckland for 3.5 hours per week: Friday’s 12.30 – 3pm (2.5 hours session time), plus an additional 1-hour non-contact time for planning/ set up/ pack up.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have completed or be currently enrolled in the Playcentre Course 3, an equivalent ECE qualification, or higher.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

  • A passion for working with new babies and children (aged up to 6 years) alongside parents and caregivers
  • Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and using Te Reo on session; and how to apply Te Whāriki
  • Having great interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence speaking within a group
  • Having completed prior Space/ Babies Can Play training will be advantageous but is not necessary.
