Programme Facilitator (Space) – Richmond Playcentre

Upper South Island

Upper South Island Region are searching for a motivated and enthusiastic Programme Facilitator to join our team.  We have positions available that will work with babies and their whānau as a part of our Space Programme.  

As a Programme Facilitator, you and your co-facilitator will help parents and their babies connect with other new parents while exploring parenting, children’s development and most importantly, play.

Position location:

Richmond Playcentre, 46 Waverley Street, Richmond 7020

Hours:

3.5 hours per week – 1 session per week, Tuesday mornings. Term time only.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have completed or currently enrolled in the Playcentre C-series, an equivalent ECE qualification, or higher.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.
  • Be prepared to facilitate across multiple centres.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

  • A passion for working with new babies and children (aged up to 6 years) alongside parents and caregivers;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy;
  • Knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and using Te Reo on session;
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whāriki;
  • Having great interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence speaking within a group;
  • Having completed prior Space training will be advantageous but is not necessary.
