Programme Facilitator (Space) – Victory Playcentre (Fixed term)

Upper South Island Region are searching for a motivated and enthusiastic Programme Facilitator to join our team.  We have positions available that will work with babies and their whānau as a part of our Space Programme.  

As a Programme Facilitator, you and your co-facilitator will help parents and their babies connect with other new parents while exploring parenting, children’s development and most importantly, play.

Purpose of the position: 

To assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the Space programme. Programme Facilitators ensure that participants are supported to build relationships with each other and that they are enabled to develop and explore parenting skills and children’s development in a safe environment.

2 May 2022

Position location:

Victory Playcentre and at various Playcentres across the Upper South Island Region as agreed upon from time to time

Hours:  

1 session – Monday afternoons.  Term time only.  This is currently on a fixed term period ending on 12 December 2022. 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Playcentre C3 qualification or higher, or currently enrolled in the Playcentre C-series, or an equivalent ECE qualification, or higher.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.
  • Be prepared to facilitate across multiple centres.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

  • A passion for working with new babies and children (aged up to 6 years) alongside parents and caregivers;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy;
  • Knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and using Te Reo on session;
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whāriki;
  • Having great interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence speaking within a group;
  • Having completed or enrolled in the “Heart of Space” training is necessary.
