Programme Facilitator (Space) – Warkworth Playcentre

Upper North Island Region are searching for a motivated and enthusiastic Programme Facilitator to join our team. We have positions available that will work with babies and their whānau as a part of our Space Programme.
As a Programme Facilitator, you and your co-facilitator will help parents and their babies connect with other new parents while exploring parenting, children’s development and most importantly, play.

Purpose of the position:
To assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the Space programme. Programme Facilitators ensure that participants are supported to build relationships with each other and that they are enabled to develop and explore parenting skills and children’s development in a safe environment.

Position location:
Warkworth Playcentre and at various Playcentres within the Upper North Island Region
Hours:
3.5 hours per week – 1 session per week, Monday afternoons. Term time only.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have completed or currently enrolled in the Playcentre C-series, an equivalent ECE qualification, or higher.
- Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.
- Be prepared to facilitate across multiple centres.
Desirable skills and experience will include:
- A passion for working with new babies and children (aged up to 6 years) alongside parents and caregivers;
- Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy;
- Knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and using Te Reo on session;
- Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whāriki;
- Having great interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence speaking within a group;
- Having completed prior Space training will be advantageous but is not necessary.
