Programme Facilitators – Canterbury Area


Playcentre are searching for motivated and enthusiastic Programme Facilitators to join our team.

As a Programme Facilitator (Space) you and your co-facilitator will help parents and their babies connect with other new parents, while exploring parenting, children’s development and most importantly play.

Space is an amazing programme that gives new parents that “village” they need to help raise their baby. Many Space members move on to become Playcentre families. Please visit the Space NZ website for more information on Space

Days & hours:

Multiple sessions and various days available. Term time only.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have completed or currently enrolled in the Playcentre Course 3, an equivalent ECE qualification, or higher.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this;
  • Be prepared to facilitate across multiple centres.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

  • A passion for working with new babies and children alongside parents and caregivers;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy;
  • Knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and using Te Reo on session;
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whāriki;
  • Having great interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence speaking within a group;
  • Having completed prior Space training will be advantageous but is not necessary.
