We are looking for a motivated person who is enthusiastic, fun loving and creative to join our parent-led team at Roslyn Bush Playcentre in Invercargill. The ideal candidate would have a great sense of humour, be reliable and flexible, and be committed to providing the best possible care and education of our tamariki.

About the role

Roslyn Bush Playcentre is a rural centre located 15 minutes out of Invercargill. We are an inclusive early childhood education organisation providing for children from birth to school age. We are committed to following and extending the interests of our tamariki in a fun and supportive environment.

Location

Roslyn Bush Playcentre, Invercargill

Hours

16 hours per week, plus additional 4 hours per school term.

Monday to Thursday between 8.45am – 12.45pm (4 hours per session)

Skills and Experience Required

  • a passion for Playcentre and our philosophy
  • a warm and nurturing manner; respectful of the interests and capabilities of all whanau
  • great interpersonal and communication skills with all ages including narrative writing
  • an ECE certificate/diploma/degree or have completed Playcentre Course 4 or higher (or equivalent)
  • confidence and willingness to incorporate Te Reo into conversation
  • knowledge of rural Southland culture and activities
  • proficiency in the content of Te Whariki and adhering to the Treaty of Waitangi
  • some experience would be beneficial however we would welcome someone new to the profession
