Session Facilitator – Hamner Springs Playcentre

Hamner Springs Playcentre are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Session Facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community for one session per week. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child led play and positive guidance, support the writing of learning stories and positively support the Playcentre education programme.

Hours:

2 sessions – 4 hours per session, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Term time only.  Applicants can be considered to cover 1 session per week.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to complete one.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults.
  • Ability to support and empower parents, whānau and caregivers in their role as Kaiako.
  • Passion for empowering and engaging with all whānau to feel a sense of belonging on our sessions.
