Session Facilitator – Kumeu Playcentre

Kumeu Playcentre are seeking a motivated person who is enthusiastic, fun loving and creative to provide leadership and support to parent-led sessions. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child led play and positive guidance, support the writing of learning stories and positively support the Playcentre education programme.

Position location:

Kumeu Playcentre, 18 Oraha Road, Auckland 0810

Hours:  

3 sessions – 9 hours per week, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. During term time.  There is a potential for the successful applicant to be the right fit for more work within the area thus increasing work hours. 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher; or an ECE L4 qualification or higher
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to complete one.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults.
  • Ability to support and empower parents, whānau and caregivers in their role as Kaiako.
  • Passion for empowering and engaging with all whānau to feel a sense of belonging on our sessions.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
