A Session Facilitator assists parents, caregivers and whānau on session to ensure sessions run smoothly, parents are supported in their role as kaiako and children’s needs are catered for, while role modelling Playcentre philosophy and current practices and fostering whānau-led culture, supporting emerging leadership and supporting parents in gaining the skills and tools to become more confident in running sessions themselves.
Lyttelton Street Playcentre are seeking two motivated and enthusiastic Session Facilitators to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre community. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child-led play and positive guidance, support planning and assessment for learning and positively support the Playcentre education programme. Our Session Facilitator’s are leaders who encourage others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whānau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.
We have two part-time positions available: one for Mondays and Tuesdays from 9.00am to 1.00pm, and another for Thursdays and Fridays from 9.00am to 1.00pm, during school term time only. The actual days worked are subject to negotiation with the successful candidates. These are fixed-term positions from 27 January 2025 ending 27 June 2025.
