Session Facilitator – North Shore Area

Playcentre are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Session Facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community in the North Shore Area. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child led play and positive guidance, support planning and assessment for learning and positively support the Playcentre education programme. You will be a leader who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whānau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.

Location:
Various Playcentres within the North Shore Area.
Days & hours:
Various days, 1-3 sessions per week, 3-4 hours each session. Term time only.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher, or Early Childhood qualification;
- Hold a current First Aid Certificate is preferred
Desirable skills and experience will include:
- A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience at Centre level with tamariki and adults;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;
- Ability to support and empower parents, whānau and caregivers in their role as Kaiako;
- Passion for supporting Te Reo Māori and tikanga and engaging all whānau to feel a sense of belonging on our sessions
