Session Facilitator - Wairaka Playcentre

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Session Facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community. You will work alongside our members to open the session and guide session activities, facilitate learning for our members and tamariki using child led play and positive guidance, support the writing of learning stories, and positively support the Playcentre education programme.

Hours:
2 sessions per week, Tuesday 9am-12pm and Thursday 9am – 11.45 am, during term time only 5.75 hr per week

The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification.
- Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to achieve this.
Desirable skills and experience will include:
- A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience at Centre level with tamariki and adults.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Ability to support and empower parents, whānau and caregivers in their role as Kaiako.
- Passion for supporting Te Reo Māori and tikanga and engaging all whānau to feel a sense of belonging on our sessions.
