Session Facilitator - Johnsonville Playcentre

To assist parents and caregivers on session to ensure sessions run smoothly, ensuring parents are supported in their role as kaiako and children’s needs are catered for, that their play learning and development is enhanced, as well as role modelling Playcentre Philosophy and current practices. To help centre members understand the key components of excellent practice at Playcentre, and how each person can contribute to this. To foster a whānau-led culture and support emergent leadership, by helping centre members gain knowledge and understanding, and increase confidence in centre members to take on more and more of running sessions themselves.

Johnsonville Playcentre, 26 Ironside Road, Johnsonville

Hours:

Part time

Permanent

1 session per week – Tuesday 8.30am – 12.30pm. Potentially Monday or Friday also.

Role commences Term (from 4 May).

Successful applicants will have:

  • A passion for working with children aged 0 – 6 years alongside parents and caregivers;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy;
  • Knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and using Te Reo on session;
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whariki;
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Skilled at leading and empowering a team from diverse backgrounds;
  • Completed Playcentre Course 3 or hold an equivalent ECE qualification.
