Session Support Worker – Te Kauwhata Playcentre

A part time permanent position has become available at Te Kauwhata Playcentre. The purpose of this position is to assist parents and caregivers on session to ensure sessions run smoothly, ,parents are supported in their role as kaiako and children’s needs are catered for, while role modelling Playcentre’s philosophy and current practices.

About the role

The purpose of this position is to assist parents and caregivers on session to ensure sessions run smoothly, ,parents are supported in their role as kaiako and children’s needs are catered for, while role modelling Playcentre’s philosophy and current practices.
Playcentre is a parent led ECE, and this role is in place to assist as part of a team, not to “lead” the team.
You will report to the Regional Manager, Anna Fleet.

Location

Te Kauwhata Playcentre, North Waikato

Hours

Mondays and Fridays 9.00am-12.00pm in term time only. Start date ASAP.

Skills and Experience Required

The right person will have passion for supporting families and have course 3 or level 4 or above ECE qualification and experience of leading early childhood experiences working alongside parents and tamariki. You will model the Playcentre philosophy on session with Playcentre members.
You must be eligible to work in New Zealand and have the ability to pass safety checking (including Police Vet).
