Te Tiriti Based Futures Te Tiriti Based Futures + Anti-racism 2020 was an innovative (inter)national, online and offline, Tiriti-based, anti-racism and decolonisation event in Aotearoa. The online conference ran from 21-30 March 2020. Day 1 began on Race Relations Day 2020, hosted by Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whātua in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Webinar topics included institutional racism and anti-racism, decolonisation, building Te Tiriti-based futures and transforming our constitution. Overseas presenters also discussed lessons for Aotearoa from their experiences with these issues. Many of the sessions from the open-access webinars are freely posted on-line, where they are a permanent resources for anti-racist activism and Tiriti education.

Land of the Long White Cloud is a seven-part documentary web-series that tells the stories of New Zealanders who are reflecting on their colonial heritage and white guilt, and the ways they push through to find a more healthy Pākehā identity. The Series Producers explain “This is an anti-racism conversation timed to coincide with the 250 year anniversary of Captain Cook’s arrival in Aotearoa.
