How much does it cost?

Overview

At Playcentre, we believe every child deserves access to quality early childhood education—free from financial barriers. That’s why there are no set fees to attend.

Playcentre is partially funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Education.  As a registered charity, we also rely on regular donations from parents and whānau to keep providing rich, hands-on learning experiences for our tamariki.

To help us continue creating a rich learning environment, we invite whānau of enrolled tamariki to make a donation each term. Your local centre will share the suggested amount and payment details. Every contribution goes directly to your centre, enhancing resources and supporting a welcoming environment for your children.  Your donations power the play!

How to donate via our website (credit card)

To donate directly to your centre: 

  1. Go to www.playcentre.org.nz and click the donate button on our homepage.   
  2. Select “donate to a centre”. 
  3. Type your centre’s name into the search bar and click the search icon.   
  4. Select your centre from the list, then click “Make a centre donation.”   
  5. Choose your payment frequency (one-time, monthly, quarterly or yearly) then select your donation amount.
    1. We encourage families to choose a quarterly (termly) recurring donation, as it supports your centre throughout the year and means you don’t need to remember to donate each term. 
  6. Enter your details.  Under “who is donating”, select “whānau”.
    1. You can add a comment and keep your donation anonymous if you wish (this is optional).    
    2. Click “Next.” 
  7. Enter your credit card payment details and click “Donate.” 

You will automatically receive a receipt (please check your spam/junk folder). 

Donations over $5.00 are eligible for a tax refund.   

How to donate via direct debit:

  1. Please pay from within your internet banking or mobile banking app. Search for ‘Playcentre Aotearoa‘ as a registered Payee.  
  2. Please be sure to fill out the correct fields as outlined below, this will ensure your donations go to your centre.  

Particulars: Surname 
Code: Centre Name (first 12 digits)  
Reference: DONWHA (Donationwhānau) 

  1. If you require a receipt for a manual payment, please allow up to 4 weeks of processing time, email [email protected] with the following information:  

Name of the donor 
Centre name 
Date the donation was made  
Total amount donated
