Playcentre Open Week 2024

Grow your Centre

Playcentre Open Week is coming up, and we want to make this year bigger and better than last year!

Playcentre Open Week is a vital part of our strategy to attract new whānau, to help your Centre grow and thrive.

Playcentres across Aotearoa are inviting parents or whānau with tamariki from birth to school age for a free visit during Playcentre Open Week, which runs from 4-8 March 2024.

The theme of Playcentre Open Week this year is “Whānau tupu ngātahi – families growing together.”

National advertising campaign

The success of Playcentre Open Week requires promotion on a national, regional and most importantly at a local or Centre level.

Our campaign will include paid national advertising, including Google advertising, radio advertising and advertising on the nz.herald.co.nz website, plus in targeted parenting media such as OHbaby, Tots to Teens and Family Times.

Our targeted/paid social media advertising will start in Feb, alongside organic posts utilising quotes from Playcentre whānau with what they love about Playcentre.

Win a $100 Playcentre Shop voucher

Tell us what you love about Playcentre and go in the draw to win a $100 Playcentre Shop voucher.  We will then use your quotes to promote Playcentre Open Week.  To enter, email [email protected] by Sunday 3 March.

WIN $250 for your Centre

We are also running a whakataetae (competition) like last year.  Send us a video or some photos showing what a typical great day at their Playcentre looks like, so we can share the videos/photos on our public Playcentre social media pages to promote Playcentre Open Week nationally.

Every entry will go in the draw to WIN $250 for your Centre.  To enter, email your videos/photos to [email protected] by Friday 8 March.

Please ensure that you include your Centre’s name with your entry and a brief comment outlining what you love about your local Playcentre.

Resources for Centres

We have also created a range of promotional resources to help you attract new whānau to your Centre.  These include editable promotional flyers and posters, so you can easily type in your Centre specific details.

Download the resources from the PR/Communications section on our website (you will need your member login).

Share our social media posts and media release

We encourage you follow and share posts from the Playcentre Aotearoa public Facebook and Instagram pages and to share our media release on your Centre’s social media pages.
