Pirongia Playcentre is located in the heart of Pirongia village, offering breathtaking views of the majestic Pirongia maunga. Our centre is thoughtfully designed and well-equipped, providing spacious grounds where children can explore, play, and engage in a variety of activities that stimulate their creativity, curiosity, and learning.
We pride ourselves on creating a warm, friendly, and supportive environment where children, families, and caregivers can connect and grow together. At Pirongia Playcentre, we believe in fostering a nurturing space that encourages hands-on learning, social interaction, and development, all while having fun.
We offer two general play sessions each week, held on Wednesday and Friday for children aged 0-6 years old. In addition, we have a dedicated session for babies (under 1 year old) on Mondays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, providing a calm and gentle space for our littlest ones to begin their early learning journey. For older children aged 3 ½ years and above, our Challenger’s extension sessions, which focus on developing more advanced skills and challenges, take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Our centre is a place for families to come together, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. We warmly invite new families to visit us, learn more about our unique approach to early childhood education, and see firsthand what Pirongia Playcentre has to offer.
At Playcentre, early childhood education is a shared journey. We value parents as the first and best educators for their tamariki, which is why parents attend alongside their tamariki – to play, learn and grow together.
Whether you have a new pēpī, preschooler, or are new to a community, Playcentre provides a place for whānau and communities to come together.
If you care for tamariki aged 0-6, we invite you to visit and experience our affordable, unique, and child-led environment. Our centres encourage learning through free play and nurture imagination, confidence, and connection.
Our licensed early learning centres follow the Ministry of Education’s world-leading bicultural curriculum, Te Whāriki, offering 16 different areas of play set up to cater for different interests, skills, ages and abilities.
We also provide a free, NZQA-approved, adult education programme for enrolled whānau to add practical strategies and skills to your parenting toolbox.
We offer three visits before you enrol. Arrange a visit today and experience our supportive, fun and friendly community for yourself!
