Why we’ve changed the Playcentre Bulletin

We want the information you receive from Playcentre to be useful, relevant, and easy to read. To support this, the Senior Leadership Team has decided to split the Playcentre Bulletin into two separate newsletters:

· Playcentre Pānui – for parents and caregivers

· Staff Pānui – for paid Playcentre staff

What this means for parents and caregivers

The Playcentre Pānui is designed especially for you. Its focus will be on:

· Children’s learning and development

· Opportunities for adult education

· Building strong, connected, and supportive Playcentre communities

By having a separate newsletter for staff, we can reduce the amount of administrative, compliance, and organisational information that parents and caregivers receive. This helps ensure your Pānui is streamlined, meaningful, and centred on what matters most at Playcentre — tamariki, whānau, and community.

How the newsletters will be shared

· The Staff Pānui will be sent monthly to all paid Playcentre staff.

· The Playcentre Pānui will be sent each term to each centre email address. A paid staff member will then share this with all parents and caregivers attending the centre, including playgroup members. Regional Managers will also receive the Playcentre Pānui so they can cascade to staff in their regional teams to ensure staff are aware of the information being shared with parents and caregivers.

Our aim is to make communication clearer and more supportive, while strengthening connections at centre level. We hope this change helps you feel more informed, confident, and connected within your Playcentre community.
