Education and transition to version 2
Our first groups in version 2 of the NZ Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4) are underway!
Here are some key messages about education and the transition to version 2:
- All new ākonga learners start with PE1 Ūkaipōtanga – Let’s Play. This module is available as face-to-face workshops, webinar workshops or self-paced iQualify online. Ākonga sign up to PE1 via the Playcentre website Find a Workshop or online module | Playcentre and will then be emailed an enrolment pack to return.
- All current ākonga should have received an email mid-December outlining their next steps. For nearly all ākonga, this includes transitioning into version 2 of the programme and the transition is straightforward. Please check your emails for more information. If you have further questions, contact Haley [email protected] if you are an online ākonga or Louise [email protected] for other queries.
- Additional generic information is available on the Playcentre website Transition to version 2 | Playcentre. Again, ākonga should check their emails for their specific next steps if they are unsure.
Kara Daly will be running two online information sessions via Teams if you’d like to find out more about the changes:
- Mon 13 Feb 1pm
- Mon 13 Feb 7pm
The Education Team will also endeavour to get to as many cluster hui in person and online as we can in Term 1. Please contact Kara [email protected] if you would like an Education Team member to join your cluster hui or to run an Education Information Session in your area.
Playcentre Education enrolment forms
Each year in January Playcentre Education enrolment forms are updated. We ask that if you have any out of date enrolment forms at your centre, please discard them. For new enrolment forms, these will be sent to you when you enrol into a module on the website Find a Workshop or online module | Playcentre or will be given out by face to face tutors when you attend the PE 1 workshop.
Playcentre Education posters to display at your centre
We encourage centres to print out and display the Playcentre Education posters which are available on our website. You will need your member login to the Playcentre website to access these.
