Fundraising helps our centres improve play spaces, purchase resources, and support the long-term sustainability of Playcentre. Our aim is fun, community-focused fundraising that reflects our kaupapa. 💛

Do I Need to Register My Fundraiser?

Most fundraisers must be registered with National Office, this helps us ensure your activity is safe, compliant, and correctly tracked so the money reaches your centre.

Small, community-based fundraisers do not require approval, but please send an email to [email protected] and your Kaimahi or KSL so we can assist with finance and accounts reconciliation nationwide:

  • Sausage sizzles
  • Gift wrapping stalls
  • Gala days
  • Bake sales
  • Garage sales

Everything else must be registered using the Fundraising Registration Form, especially if your fundraiser involves:

  • Raffles or lotteries
  • Ticketed events
  • Alcohol
  • Third-party platforms or suppliers

As we have 400 centres, please allow a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice before your fundraiser starts.

Online Fundraising

Our online fundraising platform (Raisley) can be used for fundraising campaigns as well as whānau and community donations, and the system automatically issues receipts to all donors.

We can run ticketed fundraisers through Raisley (e.g., quiz night tickets, event tickets) as well as pie sales, tea towels, merchandise sales).  These pages will sit within the Playcentre website and will be customised to your specific fundraiser.

To keep our fundraising effort sustainable, we prioritise national support for campaigns that deliver a strong return for centres.  If your fundraiser is expected to generate $500+ in profit, the National Support Team will support you with set-up and delivery.  Smaller community fundraisers can be run locally with minimal national involvement.  This helps us ensure that our systems, staff time, and fundraising tools are used effectively – maximising the impact of every dollar raised for your centre.

We can also run online raffles through a separate, dedicated raffle website. The National Fundraising Support Team will build your raffle fundraisers.

Fundraisers and Finance

Please see this link, which the finance team has put together to help guide you, click here.

We are still waiting on confirmation on the process of banking cash; we hope these processes to be finalised for the New Year. In the meantime, please liaise with the Kaimahi, CA or KSL for guidance. Furthermore, please see details below:

  • All funds must be processed through Playcentre Aotearoa accounts only.
  • Please do not use Givealittle, personal bank accounts, or ad-hoc payment tools.

Handling Money

1: Online Payments

Use the national Fundraising Account:

Playcentre Aotearoa – 12-3115-0033068-11
Use the following format:
• Particulars: Donor surname
• Code: Centre name (first 12 characters)
• Reference: FND*** (fundraiser code)

EXAMPLE: FNDPHO (FND = Fundraising, Pho = Photo; FNDPIE = Fundraising Pies, FNDSS = Fundraising sausage sizzle)

This ensures accurate coding and reconciliation by Accounts Receivable.

2: EFTPOS Machine

If you require an EFTPOS Machine

We have these currently available for a fee of around $180. In 2026 we are brokering a deal to have these available for centres to use at a much lower cost. They will be stored at HO in Wellington and dispatched to your centre for a week at a time. EFTPOS is to be used for community stalls only.

Resources Coming Soon

We are continuing to build new fundraising tools, templates, and guides. Over the Christmas break we’ll consolidate everything under the Fundraising tab on the Playcentre website — including:

  • Registration and approval guidance
  • Cash-handling and EFTPOS instructions
  • Online fundraising support
  • Campaign templates and checklists

Thank you for being so patient while we finalise new systems and successfully pilot the online fundraising platform. We appreciate all the centres who helped us trial and refine the process, ngā mihi nui!
