Funding for Playcentres

Top Tip for August

** It is important to acknowledge any funders who help you out. This can be done in a variety of ways such as a thank you on social media, sending a thank you card with a story about the impact the funding had, photos to show them what their funding achieved and a thank you in your minutes and at your AGM.

With the end of our financial year fast approaching, it is also important to make sure you have a separate line in your accounts for each funder and list them by name. Some funders stipulate this in their terms and conditions, so I find it easier to list everyone separately. The finance pack will also ask for a list of those who have given you funding in the last 12 months. Providing their name and the amount lets Playcentre Aotearoa acknowledge them in the annual report and highlight any funders who have consistently supported Playcentres nationwide.

Don’t underestimate the importance of your “Thank You”.  **

Lottery National Community Fund – applications now closed

Thank you to the 163 Centres that completed the form for this. I have submitted the grant application and expect to hear the result in early October. Based on past results, a straight split of the funds would see each Centre getting around $900. 14 Centres that applied want to put the funds towards large projects at their Centre. I will be contacting each of you to see if I can recommend where you might be able to secure additional funding for your project while you await the result from Lottery.

Upcoming Funding Rounds

Discounts for Playcentres

This section contains information about discounts or offers for Centres. It does not constitute endorsement and these offers are not for individual members.

Coming soon is a “Discounts for Playcentres” page on the members section of the website! If you have a business you would like us to approach and ask for a discount for Playcentre, please email me on [email protected]. I am waiting to hear back from Ecostore.

To access discounts for products being used at your Playcentre, take a letter from your Playcentre explaining the paint project/expected paint/product needed (approximate is fine) into your local Resene owned ColorShop and ask for the EC41 Playcentre discount. The discount depends on the products you buy – your local Resene owned ColourShop will talk you through options.  E.g. for some, if you don’t care about the colour, you could look at mistints.
