Normandale Playcentre is a friendly parent cooperative run by families committed to quality early childhood education. It is the hub of a caring community and provides fantastic facilities and equipment in a beautiful bush-like environment.
Our children are supported to become confident, competent self-directed learners through play based around their interests. Our children gain knowledge through play, participation and positive guidance. The high adult to child ratio allows a good balance for group and individual support during each session. We believe in sharing the fun with a wide variety of activities and emphasis on child led play.
We run sessions for children from birth to school age – siblings attend together, allowing older children to mentor younger children and practice empathy and caring. Our general sessions for all ages are on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. On Wednesdays we run a special session for older children. This is a dedicated bush session, offsite from our Centre, at The Woolshed, end of Stratton Street. We also run a session for younger children on Friday. Children attend with parents or caregivers and can stay independently on session from age 2.5yrs once they are well settled.
We believe as parents and caregivers we are the first and best educators of our children. We value learning alongside our children – we support the training and development of our families and our parents are actively involved in providing our children’s learning programmes.
We would love to meet you – check out our Facebook page, give us a call, send an email or drop in on a session.
