David Moger has been appointed as the new Chief Executive for Playcentre Aotearoa. David will start in the role on 1 November.

David has extensive experience with the not-for-profit sector, previously working with Habitat for Humanity, World Vision, Royal New Zealand Returned and Services Association (RSA), and YMCAs of New Zealand. He is currently the Chief Executive of Funeral Directors Association New Zealand.

Speaking about the appointment, David said “As a son, brother, husband and father, family has always been so important to me, and I am very excited to be able to play a part supporting families across New Zealand through the great work that Playcentre does”.

Playcentre Aotearoa amalgamated 32 Playcentre Associations from around the country into a single consolidated charitable trust in 2019. Reflecting on this, David said “The opportunity this pathway presents is huge and I am looking forward to working with everyone to realise the full potential that being one organisation brings”.

Michelle Hutton and Avis Stewart, Co-Presidents of Playcentre Aotearoa said “We are very excited to have David join our organisation as he brings a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge with him. David will be an asset to Playcentre Aotearoa, and we look forward to welcoming him to the role”.

Playcentre Aotearoa is a charitable trust that provides a community focused early childhood education experience for pre-schoolers and their parents/caregivers. With over 420 Playcentres from Awanui Playcentre North of Kaitaia to Toi Tois Playcentre East of Bluff, Playcentres are a familiar sight around the country.
