How to enrol

Nau mai, haere mai!

We’re delighted you’re considering joining Playcentre, a unique early childhood learning service for tamariki and whānau.

So let’s get you started.

Each Playcentre around New Zealand is cooperatively managed by parents and supported by Playcentre Aotearoa staff at a national and regional level.

Before you enrol, Playcentre offers three free visits so come along and check out what’s on offer.  It doesn’t have to be at just one Centre – feel free to try out others in your area. Every Centre has its own culture and is unique and you may feel one is a better fit that others. We do encourage you to visit several Centres in your local area to find one that suits you and your whānau best.

Click on the Find a Centre button – at the top and bottom of the page – and by putting your address in, you will be able to see the closest Centres to you.

Information on Centres includes an “Arrange a visit” button that you can use to contact a Centre, which will then get in touch with you to organise a visit.

For your visit, it is a good idea to dress yourself and your child in comfortable clothing so that you can participate in the full range of activities. We like messy play at Playcentre!

We recommend you always bring at least one change of clothes for your children. Please also bring a drink bottle and lunch box. Let the Centre know if there are any allergies to be aware of.

After your visit, the Centre may contact you about arranging follow-up visits. On or before the third visit the Centre will ask if you want to enrol – you will need to bring your child’s birth certificate and immunisation record as part of the enrolment process.

We’re looking forward to meeting you!
