Representatives of the two whare

Te Whare Tikanga Māori is a group of whānau within Playcentre Aotearoa that is made up of current and former Playcentre whānau who are tangata whenua or whose tamariki whakapapa Māori.

Tangata Tiriti whare is a group of whānau within Playcentre Aotearoa that is made up of current and former Playcentre whānau who are not in Te Whare Tikanga Māori.

It is desirable that representatives will be available to continue representation for a term of 12 months from the date of their selection.

Regional Rōpū and Clusters

Please note that the six governance regions differ from the five operational regions.

Representation at Hui ā-Tau and Tāngata Tiriti Hui

At each whare hui there are spaces for 4 representatives from each of the six regions totally (4 x 6 = 24 Tāngata Tiriti / 4 x 6 = 24 Te Whare Tikanga Māori). If hui are held online there is the opportunity for more centre members to attend as observers.

Representation at Playcentre Aotearoa Annual General Meetings

There are 48 spaces allocated for attendance (24 Tāngata Tiriti Whare representatives and 24 Te Whare Tikanga Māori representatives). As per Hui ā-Tau and Tāngata Tiriti Hui there are spaces for 4 representatives from each of the six regions totally (4 x 6 = 24 Tāngata Tiriti / 4 x 6 = 24 Te Whare Tikanga Māori).
