Normandale

Normandale Playcentre is a friendly parent cooperative run by families committed to quality early childhood education. It is the hub of a caring community and provides fantastic facilities and equipment in a beautiful bush-like environment.

Our children are supported to become confident, competent self-directed learners through play based around their interests. Our children gain knowledge through play, participation and positive guidance. The high adult to child ratio allows a good balance for group and individual support during each session. We believe in sharing the fun with a wide variety of activities and emphasis on child led play.

All of our sessions are mixed age sessions for children from birth to school age – siblings attend together, allowing older children to mentor younger children and practice empathy and caring. Children attend with parents or caregivers and can stay independently on session from age 2.5yrs once they are well settled.

We believe as parents and caregivers we are the first and best educators of our children. We value learning alongside our children – we support the training and development of our families and our parents are actively involved in providing our children’s learning programmes.

We would love to meet you – check out our Facebook page, give us a call, send an email or drop in on a session.

At Playcentre, early childhood education is a shared journey. We value parents as the first and best educators for their tamariki, which is why parents attend alongside their tamariki – to play, learn and grow together.

Whether you have a new pēpī, preschooler, or are new to a community, Playcentre provides a place for whānau and communities to come together.

If you care for tamariki aged 0-6, we invite you to visit and experience our affordable, unique, and child-led environment. Our centres encourage learning through free play and nurture imagination, confidence, and connection.

Our licensed early learning centres follow the Ministry of Education’s world-leading bicultural curriculum, Te Whāriki, offering 16 different areas of play set up to cater for different interests, skills, ages and abilities.

We also provide a free, NZQA-approved, adult education programme for enrolled whānau to add practical strategies and skills to your parenting toolbox.

We offer three visits before you enrol. Arrange a visit today and experience our supportive, fun and friendly community for yourself!
