Our financial year end process is nearly at an end – our financial statements are expected to be signed off by the Trustee Board and our auditors within the next couple of weeks.  These will then be incorporated into our 2021 Annual Report, which will be available to support your grant applications.  In the meantime, our 2020 Annual Report and financial statements are the most current documents available.

As a wide-spread organisation with distributed assets, we are more vulnerable than most to misuse of those assets.  We all have a part to play in ensuring our precious Playcentre funds are used appropriately.  We encourage “whistleblowing” and will treat such concerns raised in confidence.  If anyone has any concerns or suspicion of serious wrongdoing, they are encouraged to raise their concerns as soon as possible to an appropriate Playcentre position of authority, which if not otherwise implicated may be the Chief Financial Officer or a Regional Manager.

Most Centre pay their invoices to Playcentre Aotearoa on time.  When this doesn’t happen, overdue debt is taken out of the bulk funding paid to Centres.  To better manage Playcentre Aotearoa’s receivables, in future we will be taking this step before the debt is seriously overdue.  We’ll tell you about any debt that is 30+ days overdue a month before the bulk funding round.  If it is unpaid when bulk funding is distributed, we will take the overdue amount owing out of your bulk funding.  As always, if you are in a difficult financial position, please let us know ([email protected]) so that we can help.
